Amazing - Ice Karim

Ice Karim is a 19 year-old MC from Northern Virginia with a chip on his shoulder. His single Amazing epitomizes his current mindset in the music scene, as he raps, “They say I got nothing to complain about, so when I struggle I feel like I can’t show it.” Amazing came to fruition through the I Got Next Challenge which was held by the Music Industry Academy,  founded by Washington, D.C. radio personality EZ Street. Ice Karim was the winner of the challenge, and won free studio time, a free music video, and an appearance on DTLR radio. Karim’s music video for Amazing will also be played in over 250+ DTLR stores countrywide. The track itself feels like it should be played while a great boxer walks out before a heavyweight championship bout. This is no coincidence, as Karim was inspired by many great athletes in the process of making the song, one of them being Muhammad Ali. When describing the song, Karim quoted LeBron James, stating that "You can't be afraid to fail. It's the only way you succeed." Failing in order to succeed is a theme of Amazing, which can be seen in the music video. Karim’s lyrics speak for themselves, as he recites, “I just been chasing my dreams so I can’t get no sleep and you know that I hate snooze.” Ambition is an overarching theme in the conversation of Amazing, and it’s safe to say Ice Karim is ready to make his presence felt in the rap game.
